Known for their home-produced music and viral videos that have entertained since 2020, The Marsh Family is now stepping into a more polished sound. "Cool Kid" tackles the timeless issue of appearance versus authenticity, addressing the pressures of Insta-perfection and digital manipulation in modern society. Already gaining media attention in 2024 with appearances on ITV Meridian, the Evening Standard, and the UKTV show Parental Guidance with Katherine Ryan, The Marsh Family continues to captivate audiences. 

With its funk bass, wah-wah guitar, and driving drums, “Cool Kid” is primarily sung by the Marsh daughters, delivering a sassy, rhythmic anthem for anyone who has ever felt the pressure to conform. The lyrics of "Cool Kid" resonate with the challenges faced in school corridors and on social media platforms, where people often feel the need to invent versions of themselves to impress. The song reminds listeners that "Hashtags never made a lasting friend," encouraging authenticity. The accompanying video, created by Italian paper animation specialists SeenFilm, highlights school bullying incidents with a playful twist, featuring The Marsh Family touring school corridors in a vintage Partridge-style bus. As Ella Marsh notes, "When people hear this song, a name will spring to mind of a person that made them feel this way when they were young. But it’s better to leave them to one side and not change who you are too much."
