Each Measure Feature: Natalie Clark

FEATURE

Scottish singer-songwriter Natalie Clark is back, and she’s expressing her soul this time by going back to her acoustic roots, exposing her vulnerable human nature in her art, where she has braced up and is willing to face what's coming. With “Nothing Left to Lose,” the third single from her highly anticipated forthcoming album, she steps away from the lush, full productions of her last two releases.

Opening with an inviting melody blended with simple instruments, “Nothing Left to Lose” is a sincere lyrical track laced with relatable emotions. The track showcases Natalie's raw vocals and harmonies shining through, giving the song an intimate, confessional feel. Starting as an intimate track, as if calling to have a quiet time of reflection on vulnerability, only to move on to empowerment and hope to see someone willing to face what's coming head-on.

Natalie's acoustic return gives us something relatable to the acoustic genre. Filled with transparent lyrics, Natalie's vocals bring life to the record and display a cinematic storytelling quality for listeners. “Nothing Left to Lose” is motivational yet realistic about the challenges faced by people and how it feels like it's too late to get things done; it is a personal track filled with urgency, facing fears, and anxiety. This release is a reminder that sometimes less really is more. By being honest and personal, It's a reminder that it is not too late to go all in. It is a realisation that it costs nothing to face your fears, even when it feels like there is no time left.
