FEATURE

After two decades away from music, Bay Area singer-songwriter Hilary Fonda Webb makes a return to music with her latest album,’ Band of Angels’. Known for her past success with the band Sweet Virginia in the 90s, Webb's powerful vocals and introspective lyrics captivated audiences. After putting her music career on hold, it was a cancer diagnosis that reignited her passion for music and brought her back to her roots.

After being diagnosed with cancer, Hilary got motivated to make a return to music, blessing listeners with her vocals once again. Listeners can be sad and glad for Hilary, sad that she has cancer, and glad that she's back with her subtle, captivating vocals, which we get to experience in her eight-track album ”Band of Angels,” which was released on 18 October 2024. Our focus is on one track in the album, “Band of Angels,” which shares the same name as the album; it is undeniable that lovers of music cannot deny the lush feel the track gives off alongside her soulful voice. “Band of Angels” is an acoustic-powered jewel moving at a slow pace, which is a soothing offering to lovers of slow music.

‘Band of Angels’ draws inspiration from her personal experience, making it easily relatable and enjoyable. The track is very appealing to old and young alike and shouldn't be neglected by any. Hilary's “Band of Angels” is awe-inspiring and loving. “Band of Angels” is that album you play when you are trying to cope with distress, closing off the day's work, or sitting on the balcony with a whisky at hand.
