“Watchtower” is a 2024 release by Free / Man. Free / Man is one of many artistic outlets created by Charlie Freeman. Freeman is a truly talented and multifaceted artist and musician from London's Portobello. Coming out of the gate not just running but completely dominating his artistic vision, Charlie Freeman is offering a variety of entertainment for his current and future fans!

“Watchtower” immediately brought up a sense of nostalgia in me. The familiar folk rock sound of the harmonica and acoustic guitar brings back memories of my youth when I would enjoy music with my father, and I can imagine many families developing those memories with the music Of Free / Man. This, I believe, is the greatest outcome one can hope to achieve with their music.

As I said, the start of the song begins with the soft and welcoming strum of Charlie's guitar. Soon after the melodic harmonica comes a comforting, vocally relayed story, which I found to be very relatable. I have found myself feeling lost in the early mornings prior to sunrise while anxiously waiting for the sun to rise and bring me distraction from my own complicated emotions.

I believe that connection with others can be the most healing remedy for many of the spiritual ailments that come with being human, so I picture this as the light that comes with the day, which is spoken of in this song “Watchtower.” Free/Man has a bright future that is full of countless opportunities to impact listeners in unique ways, and from the plans he has, I believe he will be making the most of all these opportunities.
