Swedish Singer Spreads Awareness Through Her Single “You Can Buy Love for Money”

THE ARTIST

Swedish singer and producer Bara Karin spreads awareness on International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, by releasing her powerful single, “You can buy love for money.” With an occupation as a psychologist on this exact issue, Karin has no limits when it comes to voicing her opinion on serious issues about sex trafficking, domestic violence and plastic surgery.

THE MUSIC

The song begins with a soft piano melody that sets the solemn tone for Karin’s song. Sharing how a victim may question their decisions, she goes on to say:

THE LYRICS

“Bruises all over my body

Don’t Know If it’s better to be

To be free”

As the production picks up, the light percussion and sub bass drives us towards the end of the song where we’re pulled in by a melodic whistle that carries us to the lyrics:

“Maybe I can still attract you?”

She goes on to leave the door open to interpretation by leaving us with this question.

With expertise on this topic and the strength to share her advocacy in her music, the vulnerability and unique perspective is something to pay attention to. We really appreciate Karin’s effort and ability to expand our understanding.
