Each Measure Feature: Wesley Harper
FEATURE
Wesley Harper transports listeners back to the 80s with a chill, nostalgic pop song titled “Love Is Going” from his upcoming album “Fun Pain.” Harper is a Catskill, New York musician inspired by acts of all genres: from The Beatles to Frank Ocean and Bon Iver. He began making music after a simple conversation with producer Jon Notar at a bowling alley, where they both agreed: “Hey we should make music.” Notar plays drums for “Love Is Going” along with Harper's Camp Saint Helene bandmate Dylan Nowik. As for the other instruments in “Love is Going,” Harper champions it all, showcasing his multi-instrumental talents.
“Love is Going” was released on August 23rd and is the second single from “Fun Pain.” It was produced and recorded by Notar at Elbow Room Recording in Saugerties, New York. The single is sonically full and lyrically genuine. Harper blends a classic pop chorus with his love for fretless bass, a combination that creates a familiar ethereal sound but takes audiences somewhere new after each listen. Lyrically, Harper writes about how it feels to go through active change where everything is visibly taking on new forms. “Love Is Going” is about realization and reflection and all the emotions that accompany a changing time that is both intimidating and beautiful.
