Each Measure Feature: Waveform Mountain
FEATURE
Waveform Mountain is a father/daughter synth duo from Vancouver Island, British Columbia, who have just released their debut album. Candace Woodland (they/them) writes the lyrics and melodies and is the lead vocalist. Jon Woodland (he/him) composes synth music and arranges and mixes the tracks. Seb Woodland (he/him)—Candace's brother—joins in on some of the music composition process and provides guitar, bass, and backing vocals.
The Canadian outfit's new release, ‘PROCESSING...,’ is a 12-track album filled with unusual sweet tones, retro-flavored synth-pop, and a blend of influences and genres that gives this record a unique identity, setting it uniquely apart from other records, a testament to Candace’s honest and philosophical songwriting as they deliver a charismatic and elegant story with evocative vocals, all of this being possible thanks to a great musical composition.
“The Hermit,” the first track of the album, is a standout track with a relaxing theme that carries with it uplifting, exciting vibes. Listening to this track will surely compel you to listen to the whole album, which contains other tracks that are also beautifully sung with interesting rhythms. The album promises to leave listeners in awe and ecstatic about the album's flexibility, which means there is a song for everyone.
