FEATURE

Hailing from the U.S. midwest, Spectra packs a punch with their new comeback single “Home.” As a singer, songwriter, vocalist, pianist, and composer, Spectra has been producing fresh pop-inspired tunes since 2014. Typically, her music reflects glam-rock and female pop musicians however, “Home” is a side of Spectra never seen before. Her newest single is a melting pot of Green Day’s distorted guitars and classic piano and string melodies, making “Home” uniquely Spectra.

“Home” was released on July 8, 2024, and produced by Spectra and Chris Errera. Written over 12 years ago, “Home” is lyrically inspired by finding a sense of place, self-discovery, and gratitude. On the other hand, embedded in the melodic vibe of “Home” are cinematic forest elements and catchy instrumentation. Throughout its three-and-a-half-minute run, these raw, genuine emotions are exactly what you feel as a listener. The combination of distorted guitars and drums, alongside piano, creates a layered sound and a sense of tension in the song that fits the lyrical vibe of the single. This newest single is a stark difference from Spectra’s previous music, yet it is clear that she has found “Home” in this new genre.
