THE INTERVIEW

What song or moment in time sparked your passion for music?
I was into music since I was very little, and my father taught me to play and sight read Mozart when I was 5. But the “moment” I would mention is playing the Colorblind by Counting Crows.

If you had to create a Mount Rushmore of inspiration, what four individuals molded the artist you are today?

It’s 5 at least! :)

Norah Jones, Robbie Williams, Chris Martin and Coldplay, Thomas Newman, Hanz Zimmer.

How does your creative process work from the moment you develop the idea to the completion of the record?
I press the record button, sit at the piano and I play, sing along, and when I get the idea for the harmonies and some melodies lyrics comes. My favorite is adding on strings or other instrumental, which normally appears in my head, when I first play a draft version. And it’s very cool and sometimes not easy to have a massive amount of imaginary notes for the arrangement in your head, so you have to capture that accurately.

The hardest part for making up a song is to shape my feelings into the words, and the most exciting part is when you listen to the first draft version and you realize that a few minutes ago it didn’t exist, and now it does.

As for this release, who is the producer and what about the production moved you?

This song was produced by Guy Chambers and mixed by Simon Todkill. To have that kind of experience having my song recorded in the top studio in London - Sleeper Sounds Studio - is very inspiring for me. So many great artists recorded fabulous music there, i.e. Coldplay, Florence and the Machine, Frank Ocean.

The favorite moment of the recording was me recording vocals with Guy Chambers playing Steinway and Sons grand piano same time. I caught myself thinking that that was actually my dream happening for real.

When it comes to the songwriting on this record, what is the message you want to get across to your listeners?

I want to wish everyone to find love deep within, to feel ourself whole and genuine and that will help us to go through all the planet Earth challenges we have been facing for the past 3 years for sure.
