THE INTERVIEW
What song or moment in time sparked your passion for music?
When I heard Whitney Houston sing 'I will Always Love You' on the radio when I was 11, that's what made me want to start singing! I haven't stopped since!
If you had to create a Mount Rushmore of inspiration, what four individuals molded the artist you are today?
Whitney Houston
Alanis Morisette & Sheryl Crow - both inspired me to start writing songs
Dolly Parton - an unapologetic, sweet, songwriter, performer, business woman and overall bright badass!!!
Can I have Beyonce on there too??!! For all the reasons above!
As for this release, who is the producer and what about the production moved you?
The song was produced by Todd Spadafore, an amazing producer based here in L.A. I brought the song to him and immediately he understood the direction I wanted for the production - low, moody strings and a hard beat. I wanted it to sound tough and to hit the listener hard!
When it comes to the songwriting on this record, what is the message you want to get across to your listeners?
I hope the listener feels inspired and motivated after hearing this song! It's about finding grit and resilience in yourself, even if you've been knocked down!
