Tempo Talks: A Conversation with Jane N' The Jungle

THE RELEASE

Welcome to the enthralling world of Jane N' The Jungle, where music transforms into a bed of roses, bursting with an exquisite combination of coziness and complexity. Their distinctive sound is the result of combining pixelations that blur the distinctions between genres and provide a musically tongue-tied optical illusion of emotions that spellbinds listeners. The nucleus of the band, which consists of the charismatic lead singer and accomplished composer Jordan White, and the skilled guitarist and fellow songwriter Brian Dellis, creates a musical synergy that is nothing short of astounding. Jordan and Brian are natives of Phoenix, Arizona, and their adventure began as childhood pals who, in 2013, started a modest garage rock band. They developed Jane N' The Jungle over time as their creative chemistry grew stronger. Embodying the spirit of 90's alternative rock and grunge, their main influences infuse a nostalgic yet fresh vibe into their compositions.

Following the resounding success of "Wasteland," Jane N' The Jungle is back with their latest masterpiece, "Bed of Roses," set to grace their highly-anticipated upcoming EP. The track is a mesmerizing fusion of comfort and ease, enveloped in intricate melodies that paint a vivid musical canvas. Jordan White's soulful and commanding vocals take listeners on an emotional rollercoaster, navigating through a sonic garden filled with subtle yet impactful pixelations, forging an optical illusion of harmonies. Recorded in the heart of Phoenix, AZ, at the esteemed Cosmic Soup Studios, "Bed of Roses" embodies the band's raw energy and genuine passion for their craft. Collaborating with the talented Maxamillion Haunt (The Haunt) at his studio added a touch of magic to the production, resulting in a sound that is both authentic and alluring. Mixed and expertly edited by the renowned super producer Chuck Alkazian at Pearl Sound Studios in Canton, MI. Rich orchestration and compelling vocals are expertly balanced in this song. "Bed of Roses" exemplifies the strong talent that makes Jane N' The Jungle a rising force in the alternative rock industry with Brian Dellis' superb guitar playing and Jordan White's imposing presence as the lead vocalist. "Bed of Roses" is only the fascinating start of this developing audio trip, and their upcoming EP promises to be a symphony of emotions.

THE INTERVIEW

If you had to create a Mount Rushmore of inspiration, what four individuals molded the artist you are today?

Celine Dion, Pat Benatar, P!nk, Kurt Cobain

Were there any personal experiences or stories that influenced the creation of the music video, and if so, how did they shape the final product?

For “Bed of Roses” we did a visualizer video for the first time, and was inspired by the kaleidoscope videos from the early 2000’s we used to watch music to as a kid. It’s more simplistic than an official music video.  I had fun playing with the performance art which was the main theme of the video.

If you could sum up the essence or overarching message of the music video in a few words or phrases, what would they be, and why are those concepts significant to you?

The intentions for the visualizer was to be a piece of art that is cohesive with the single, mainly performance art based, which I felt was vulnerable as an artist.

Can you discuss any unique or unconventional techniques or choices you or the producer made during the song's creation process that helped to shape its distinctive sound?

The song started out as a demo that wasn’t intended to be recorded.  We sent it to Max Haunt to get his thoughts and the demo began taking form to what it is today.

When it comes to the songwriting on this record, what is the message you want to get across to your listeners?

“Bed of Roses” was lyrical inspired by the definition of what the phrase means.  I found it confusingly interesting and is the foundation of the songwriting for this single.
