THE ARTIST
Naia Lika is a rising star in the world of pop, soul, and R&B, and her sound is both innovative and nostalgic. Growing up in Las Vegas and Michigan, Lika was introduced to musical theater at an early age and spent most of her upbringing in that discipline. However, when she was attending the Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music, a period of self-discovery and introspection led her to question her career choice and even her sexuality. This realization, combined with the pressures of her family's musical legacy, brought on an identity crisis that ultimately led her to drop out of college and move to LA.
In LA, Lika found the courage to carve her own creative path, writing music for the first time during the pandemic. This newfound sense of freedom and expression was a turning point in her life, and her sound today is heavily influenced by artists like Remi Wolf, Dua Lipa, Leon Bridges, and YEBBA. "Gas Station Bouquet", is an impactful moment for her, as it marks the first time she felt that she was actively choosing to pursue music rather than simply following in her family's footsteps.
