THE MUSIC
Daniel Robert has made a statement with his debut EP, "Talk About." The five-track project is an impressive showing of Robert's diverse set of self-taught skills - he wrote, recorded, mixed and mastered the entire EP. Throughout the release, listeners get a glimpse into Robert's world - he opens up about his childhood, the loss of his father, and his upbringing in Los Angeles on the “Introduction.” Before you know it, the hard hitting “Statue” is dropped upon us and details the importance of each ones History and its impossible-to-erase impact it has on us. “Talk About” touches on the value of forging your own path, going against the normality and routine of socialetal norms. His fourth song, "Lights," features the incredibly talented Naomi Cheyanne, who adds her own jazzy spin to the mesmerizing track that shares insight to the ins and outs of Los Angeles and the predatory nature of the elites in Hollywood. On "Eyes," Robert closes out the EP with a heartfelt exploration of trust, love and hope through the lens of looking into someone else's eyes. Overall, this body of work is a true piece of art. Detailed, introspective and dare we say cinematic.
