Each Measure Feature: Cherry Bomb

FEATURE

Cherry Bomb transports listeners back to the time of 80's rock bands in their newest upbeat rock album “Sunset BLVD.” Cherry Bomb is a five-person German-based band with Chris P Nuttz on vocals and guitar, Vince Vixxen on lead guitar, Ben Dover on drums, Don Diego Duarte on bass, and Neil N. Blomee on keyboard. Six years ago, the band got together over their love of Hair Metal bands of the 80’s. Their Motley Crue, Whitesnake, and Van Halen influences are clear in their music. Their live performances are full of excitement (and alcohol), a rock n roll staple. This energy comes across especially in “Sunset BLVD.”

The 11-track album was released on July 26th and recorded and created in Vince Vixxen’s private studio. The album is a mix of exciting, fast-paced metal anthems with epic guitar riffs, powerful, raspy vocals, and a sprinkling of slower, mellow tunes full of angst and emotion such as in “Especially” or “Guardian Angel.” Overall, the album is about good vibes, and reminiscing about the great places and bands of the 80’s. Each tune is uplifting and though “Sunset BLVD” is reminiscent of 80’s Hair Metal, the band’s creativity shines through. “Sunset BLVD” is the album you blast in your convertible as you drive along the California coastline
