Testing the ‘Speed Limit’ with Carson Ferris’s New Single
THE ARTIST
At just 13 years of age, Carson Ferris has a bright future and is already making waves. His journey started at the age of six when he began to play the electric guitar. Carson honed his performance skills at Dave Wilbur's Rock Lab in Orem and later with the acclaimed One Voice Children's Choir. In 2020, when the world came to a standstill, Carson's passion for music remained undeterred. He took charge of his own career by recording music in Los Angeles and releasing his hit single "Can't Be Without You," featuring Trinidad Cardona, in October 2021. The same year, he also showcased his singing and dancing abilities in a video for Donny Osmond's Las Vegas show, performing "One Bad Apple."
Carson's musical style combines pop with a touch of rock influence, drawing inspiration from bands like Journey and artists such as OneRepublic, Ed Sheeran, and Alec Benjamin. His goal is to create accessible and relatable music that resonates with his audience. To focus on his music, Carson transitioned to online schooling in 2020, and he now frequently performs at local music festivals like Fork Fest and Buzzards and Bees. Collaborating with producer Mykyl and working at Provo's June Audio, Carson remains dedicated to writing and recording new music. With a plan to release a fresh song every six weeks in 2023, fans can eagerly anticipate an abundance of exciting tunes from this young and talented musician.
THE MUSIC
Carson's latest offering, "Speed Limit," digs into the emotional journey of pursuing your dreams. A collaborative effort between Carson and Mykyl, the talented duo co-wrote and produced the record. Big cinematic drums and dreamy pop guitars help display a high level of pop production. The youthful wisdom Carson unveils through his lyrics resonate with listeners of all ages. One particularly striking line offers sage advice for anyone facing life's challenges: "Whenever there's too much in your life, you gotta let go, let go, let go."

Carson, speaks in detail about his own encounters in the music world: “Speed Limit is very personal in a lot of ways. I don’t always feel this way, but sometimes I do get overwhelmed trying to make it as a musician who also happens to be a kid.”
