FEATURE
Reggae lovers are in for a treat as Tobago’s own, Caleb Hart, proudly announces the release of his highly anticipated album titled "EMANCIPATION.” The album consists of seven tracks, which may or may not have been an ironic move from the artist, but what listeners can confirm is that the seven-track masterpiece (six songs and an interlude) is indeed an expertly crafted work of art that promises to be timeless.
The first song on the album, “Lambeau,” has a soulful feel with calming beachside vibes. From the lyrics, it is clear that the artist professes his love for "Lambeau." The perfect song for a day at the beach or a vacation with a significant other. Its soothing rhythms are sure to spark an intimate connection almost instantaneously. The second track on the album, "Emancipation," named after the album, invokes a party-like environment with the rapid Caribbean-style drums and shakers. The lyrics stress liberation and the need to be grateful for life. The third track,” Voices,” has a unique sound, as it begins with a series of drums and other organic tap sounds. No air nor string instruments, then, halfway into the song, a subtle piano can be heard.
Moving on to track four, "X-ray," the interlude, the artist shares his views about what being an artist means to him in less than a minute via an excerpt from what seems to be an interview. It seems to have been included by the artist such that listeners can use their imaginations to picture the scene. The album promises to be exciting and allow listeners to enjoy Caleb's unique blend of sound, which he calls “Island Soul.”
