Each Measure Feature: ALEJ

FEATURE

ALEJ is a solo pop artist who began his career in his teenage bedroom with GarageBand and Apple Loops. A singer and songwriter from Miami, his newest single “Electric Heaven” is a classic break-up pop song that fuses catchy beats and melancholy lyrics, a distinct characteristic of his discography. ALEJ’s musical career started with recorded karaoke covers of Taylor Swift songs until his sister encouraged him to write and produce his music at just 13 years old. Influenced by Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, and the Weekend, ALEJ has shared his music throughout his hometown of Miami; playing at La Scala de Miami, Peacock Park, and Tea & Poets.

True to his hometown, “Electric Heaven '' was recorded in his home studio and produced by Chris Adam remotely from Charlotte, North Carolina. “Electric Heaven” was released on June 7th and was inspired by a fun, drunken night at a Barbie-themed party. Lyrically, ALEJ writes about the need to have a wild night out to escape the depression following a difficult breakup. His heartbreaking and somber vocals are accompanied by a catchy rhythm and a full blend of piano and electronic beats. “Electric Heaven” is the perfect song for a midnight drive as ALEJ’s lyrics will leave you appreciating the pleasures of a good time.
