“Bloodsucker” is a 2024 release by The Sleepy Haunts of Seattle, Washington. If you are learning of the band for the first time while reading this, then you have luckily discovered a hidden treasure! The Sleepy Haunts are relatively new to the music scene, but they are blazing into the industry like a shooting star. 

The Sleepy Haunts are composed of vocalist/lyricist/guitarist Gilliam McMahon, guitarist Josiah Massari, bassist Noah Wager, and drummer Sevastian Dingler.

They confidently produce a unique approach to a pop rock sound. Led by Gillian McMahon’s powerful vocals and relatable lyrics, this band is bound for glory. I urge you to look them up on YouTube and click the bell icon because their current project will be released one track at a time as part of their waterfall release strategy.

Bloodsucker: This track is one of the releases that will be included in their upcoming album. It is hard to overlook the vocals with their soft allure and strong control—all this sung over a truly catchy melody, with lyrics that I believe everyone can relate to in some way. Gillian voices the angst of not being anyone’s first choice and the fear and disappointment that come with being alone.

While listening to the track, I couldn’t help but think of my own desire to be chosen and to be needed for who I am and not just for what I can do. I unapologetically say that The Sleepy Haunts has a new fan in me, and I am excited to hear what they will be releasing next!
