Each Measure Feature: The Afro Nick

 “Get There Before Noon (LA mix)” is a 2024 release by The Afro Nick. The Afro Nick is a band with roots spanning from Greece to New York and settling in California. They are creating music with high energy, unique synth, and messages meant to inspire the listener to not just exist but to experience life.

I identified with “Get There Before Noon.” I have changed my life to allow for the best possible outcomes, and this is something I heard in the lyrics of this song. I believe that many people will be inspired to live in the ‘now’ after hearing this track.

I like the idea that their music is created for the people who do not fit into the mold that society expects everyone to fit into. I can identify with this message, and I find it refreshing that there is a band out there that is creating art for those of us who exist on the fringe of this current culture.

Most artists desperately want to be part of and accepted by those who make up pop culture, and this creates a stale and stagnant art form and makes that into what is expected, so I am grateful for what this band is doing.

When “Get There Before Noon” begins playing, I notice the unique synth that acts as the intro. This is followed by a calm, yet energetic melody from the guitar. The lyrics that spoke to me most were ‘all you do is wait till everything’s gone.’ This is something that I used to be guilty of. I lived in fear, so I never tried to follow my dreams. I am thankful that change has taken place to allow me to identify with the messenger of these lyrics.

I hope that many people who hear this song will be inspired to follow their dreams and to not wait until it’s too late.
