superWAV Shares a NEw kind of Energy with their release “atypical”

Take an adventure across the Atlantic with superWAV, an Alternative Rock collaboration led by siblings Anne Wichmann and Volker Wichmann. THE MUSIC

superWAVs EP "aTypical," which was released on October 11, 2023 is a blues infused collection of songs that caters to rock enthusiasts. The sibling duo, Anne and Volker Wichmann, manages to deliver a stripped down and in your face rock sound despite being separated by an ocean. The album takes its name from the five personality archetypes and explores elements in a way. It combines raw blues tones of acts like The White Stripes and PJ Harvey with gritty guitar feedback similar to that of Sonic Youth or Sabbath. While "aTypical" maintains an approach to rock music it also offers a nuanced experience.

The Wichmann siblings crafted their tracks in the Italian Alps infusing their sound with influences from power rock legends such as Monster Magnet, Alice in Chains and The Kills. Drawing upon the energy they had when they were part of RAWJAW, superWAV seamlessly continues where they left off by creating a sound that captures the essence of alternative rock with a '90s vibe. Anne’s beautiful vocals complement Volker’s guitar work adding depth to each track.
