THE INTERVIEW
If you had to create a Mount Rushmore of inspiration, what four individuals molded the artist you are today?
The alchemist, The Avalanches, System of a Down, Dj Quik, and Smoov-e.
Were there any personal experiences or stories that influenced the creation of the album, and if so, how did they shape the final product?
All three of my albums are about my life. The first one I fed you one of my all time meals, the second i told you everything about me. Now this album here is my going away present. I'll be off grid somewhere living in peace. Its definitely a tropical place. :)
How did you approach the selection and arrangement of the songs on this project to create a cohesive and impactful listening experience for your audience?
It’s funny, once i decided to let music go (online) I thought well what will I do!? Easy answer is go and relax alone, or "with or without you" (track 3). So this album was kinda made in reverse, seeing as how I knew the end goal all along. To the beginning where we board the plane on "window seat". The rest in the middle is a story you'll have to pick up your plane ticket for, join me, all expenses paid.
How do you see this album representing your artistic evolution or progression, and what new elements or techniques did you experiment with during its production?
This is definitely my best album yet, the theme flows a lot better than before, with a couple of good ol See Level surprises :)
Can you share any memorable or profound moments from the recording or writing sessions that had a lasting impact on you personally or creatively?
The end of the album. The conversation on the beach. The waves and the way the drums fade into an epic outro. It’s something to pay close attention to. I nailed it on the first shot, listened and It brought me tears of joy. I thought, yeah we are done here. I gave you all I have with these three albums this year.... Maybe I'll be "back for the holidays" next year... maybe not. Peace and Love.
