From New Zealand to the World: Rella's 'ETERNAL' Takes Center Stage

THE ARTIST

Rella, who hails from the magnificent hills of New Zealand, emerges as a rap virtuoso unlike any other. His musical path exemplifies the combination of emotions and melodies, a stunning blend that finds a home among the raw essence of rap and the gentle embrace of bedroom pop. Rella's aural canvas is created with melancholy guitar strokes and the booming beat of powerful percussion, creating a landscape that resonates deep into his listeners' hearts and souls. Rella has carved himself a niche where authenticity reigns supreme, with an astonishing twenty million Spotify plays under his belt and notable collaborations with underground heavyweights such as Tommy Ice and 6obby.

Rella stands as a steady light of talent in a society affected by fads and mainstream influences, making music that tugs at the emotions and speaks to the depths of human existence. His remarkable climb to over 200,000 monthly listeners attests not just to his outstanding skill, but also to his unshakable dedication to being faithful to his own artistic vision. Rella encourages you to go on a soul-stirring trip through the tapestry of emotions, where his music acts as a mirror to the intricacies of life, love, and the human spirit with each verse and chorus.

THE MUSIC

Rella has released his debut album, "Eternal," on September 29th, in a sonic revelation destined to change the soundscape of 2023. This highly anticipated release, a compelling blend of seductive melodies and pensive, melancholy lyrics, promises to be a pivotal milestone in Rella's career. "Eternal" emerges like a waterfall of memories, regrets, and half-hearted resolutions that cross a disturbed mind during those restless nights as you start on this auditory voyage. The album begins with the cryptic "Belong," a mesmerizing spiral that quickly transforms into the high-energy yet melodious "Broken," a work of Sogimura, the sound architect. Rella's musical story glides smoothly between gloomy guitar riffs and irresistibly catchy choruses throughout the album's ebbs and flows.

As "Eternal" develops, Rella bravely tackles his history on the project's emotional high point, "Selfish." In a moving epiphany, he confronts the intricacies of his anguish, accepting its unavoidable existence and recognizing his own sensitivity. The album then smoothly transitions into "All On My Own," a nostalgic, emo-infused piece featuring one of the album's only two guest appearances, Tommy Ice. This revolutionary musical journey began in Rella's bedroom studio in Palmerston North, New Zealand. It came to fruition in early 2023, fueled by the devastating revelation of an abusive relationship between Rella's own mother and stepfather, as well as the horrific struggle of his mother's attempted suicide and hospitalization in January. Following the release of "Rockstar" later that month, Rella began on a very introspective journey, spending six months in the studio crafting this sad record. "Eternal" is an emotional ode to grief, loss, and the unexpected essence of life, a heartbreaking time capsule that connects with Rella's and many others' tremendous difficulties during their darkest hours.
