Go On A Sonic Adventure Through MVI’s “In The Rain ShaDow”
THE ARTIST
With a musically trained ear and genre versatility, Mark Vickness Interconnected, also know as MVI, is not your average musician. He is know as a composer and has been playing the piano ever since he was six years old. This was the start of his musical journey which later led to him learning multiple instruments such as the guitar, sitar and tabla which are traditional Indian instruments. He spent years as a performing jazz guitarist and and even composed music for film and dance scores. MVI also performed in an acoustic duo where he performed and recorded music for decades. This later led to him being trained by world renowned musicians such as the two time Grammy winners such as Michael Manring (bass player), Alex DiGrassi and Don Ross (guitarists). Receiving both his Bachelor’s and Master’s in composition, MVI has established himself as an inspiring figure amongst his peers and continues to create music that people love.
THE MUSIC
MVI’s project, "In The Rain Shadow" was inspired by his journey in 2020 moving to California’s high desert known as Owen’s Valley. The Valley is quite literally a rain shadow which is a sheltered side of a mountain where the precipitation is lower due to various wind patterns. This project consists of 7 members that bring diversity to the album from genres such as jazz, progressive rock and even classical music.
The concept of all these musicians and genres coming together, represents MVI’s intention to bring unity to all human beings. This album also contains a series of Live HD performance videos where listeners can immerse themselves in the album through visuals. Overall, MVI’s music has been cherished and enjoyed by not only world class musicians but general music lovers alike making “In The Rain Shadow” another memorable project that is worth listing to.
