I was driving to work one morning after, looking at the full moon and the opening lyrics just came to me unlike anything before… I pick up my guitar when I got home, not knowing how it would come together… and from that came a space-themed love song, with every line inspired by my girlfriend and new love for space.”

It's this personal touch that makes “Saturn” such a magical experience, and Walsh further displays his genuine passionate for his subject matter with a musical landscape that breaks the boundaries of pop music. In an exercise in musique concrète, Walsh enriches the sonic texture of “Saturn” with real electromagnetic radio wave samples recorded by NASA from Earth and Saturn. Paired with a crisp electric guitar and a steady drum and bass rhythm, these recordings create a dreamy immersive soundscape for Walsh’s love story to unfold.

“Saturn” is a game-changing track, but it’s only the beginning for Mark Walsh.
