Each Measure Feature: Maddie Lexandra

FEATURE

Introducing Maddie Lexandra. This singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist burst from her classical training to find a second home for her passion for prose and surrealistic storytelling. Infusing her allure with elements of fantasy and K-pop, the lethargic nuances of indie, and the vast emotional landscapes of R&B, Maddie unwinds light-as-air vocals and somnambulant harmonies to lull her listener into the dream world she painstakingly creates. This visual art student and self-producer strings her music and visuals together, executing a fully enveloped fantasy that invites you to toggle through scenarios of love and the delicate pantomimes of mind and emotion, alla metaphor. With the release of her debut LP, Maddie has made one thing clear: her evolution is only beginning.

“Escaping Light” by Maddie Lexandra is a dreamy pop masterpiece that ushers audiences into a world of boundless wonder and exploration. With playful conducting at the helm, the single whimsically fuses experimental and immersive sounds with those of R&B, standing as a startling testament to the artist’s musical acrobatics. Expertly woven electric guitar and cord strings offer a vibrant charm and retro appeal as they simmer under the surface, accentuating a nostalgic air paired with an intricate tone. A standout first chorus and a dynamic key change towards the end each thread brilliant layers into the composite work. In “Escaping Light,” Maddie’s musicality sends listeners into a dreamscape, rendering the track captivating and memorable as an auditory experience best suited to a blissful deluge in the vast world of dreamy pop.
