Tempo Talks: A Conversation with Love Ghost
THE RELEASE
Love Ghost breaks genre barriers in the alternative and underground music environment, lead by visionary Finnegan Bell. Love Ghost is currently engaged in Mexico's lively scene, collaborating with Latin artists such as Dan Garcia and Ritorukai, and are motivated by the creative pulse of change. BrunOG collaborates with Love Ghost on "Haunted House," an alt-kid hit that flawlessly blends English and Spanish lyrics. The fast pace of the song produces an enthralling synergy with Mexican artist FLVCKKA, and the music video artfully captures their collaboration.
"Haunted House" by Love Ghost isn't just a song; it's an underground anthem for alt kids that transcends languages and musical norms. Latin Grammy nominee BrunOG's rhythmic mastery collides with FLVCKKA's Mexican artistry, resulting in a captivating blend. The music video, shot with scenic allure, vividly showcases the fusion between FLVCKKA and Love Ghost. As Love Ghost's Finnegan Bell exploration continues, their collaborations with talents like Camidoh and Cinnamon Babe are eagerly anticipated, promising more genre-defying sonic ventures.
THE INTERVIEW
What was the most rewarding aspect of making the music video, and what message do you hope viewers take away from it?
The whole experience was so much fun. The fact that it was shot in Mexico during a thunderstorm is just so epic to me. Honestly the message of both the song and the video is to stand up for yourself and overcome the emotions when someone tries to get under your skin.
Were there any specific experiences or events in your life that influenced the song’s lyrics?
Yeah of course. I mean bullying to start off. Haha. But that’s basically what it’s about. It’s pretty on the nose. I say fuck the haters In the chorus. Whoever those haters are for you is who I’m talking about.
What was the biggest takeaway or lesson you learned while creating this song?
I mean it wasn’t a lesson because I already knew it, but a takeaway is that really cool and special art usually comes from the strangest places. Whether that be physical or mental.
Can you share any interesting anecdotes about the song’s development with your co-writers or producers?
Sure, it was made in Mexico and produced by BrunOG. He’s super talented but since Spanish isn’t my first language and English isn’t his, there was some slight language barriers which made it difficult at first to understand what we were trying to articulate to each other.
How has your recent growth as an artist influenced the direction of your future work?
Honestly I just do whatever the f*ck I want. I feel like the most genuine expression will always be responded to the best. So whatever that is, I’ll go with it.
