Each Measure Feature: Love Ghost
FEATURE
Love Ghost is a widely praised alternative rock band drawing musical inspiration from Mexican Rock, Grunge, Metal, and Emo bands with a hint of influence from modern rap beats. The band has recently been favorably featured in several music magazines including RollingStone and Alternative Press, to name a few. Love Ghost’s influence has spread globally: touring Europe, playing in Mexico, and collaborating with culturally diverse musicians as lead singer Finnegan Bell writes and records with various Latin artists. Their extreme and energetic music aims to uplift stories of trauma and mental health challenges, with a musical twist.
Scream is the title song of Love Ghost’s newest five-song EP featuring 6 artists: Monde, El Verumcito, La Sinclair, Adhara, Helian Evans, and 3Angel. Produced by Mexican Hard Rock artist Monde, Scream features a trap beat intertwined with early 2000s hardcore guitar riffs– an ode to Grunge and Emo music. Finnegan Bell’s deep and distorted vocals fit the song’s energetic, fast-paced guitar and drums. When you think you’ve heard it all, Scream pleasantly surprises you with Spanish bars in the bridge– a feature encompassing the cultural fusion of Love Ghost. Lyrically, Love Ghost tackles the classic emotions of early 2000s Emo music: the need to feel something and the emotional battle of pushing down sadistic urges. The song starts with emotional restraint but rises to an energetic release as the singer’s voice becomes more distorted, angry, and desperate.
