Each Measure Feature: Joshua Pearlstein
FEATURE
Joshua Pearlstein has a vision, and he isn’t letting anything get in his way. An up-and-coming singer, songwriter, and producer, Joshua’s reimagining of what a pop song can be pushes boundaries and breaks barriers. He comes in swinging in his third release, Endorphins, which dropped this Friday.
Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Joshua was born with perfect pitch. As a child, he fell in love with the music of icons such as Prince and Michael Jackson, and was immersed into music lessons. It wasn’t until high school, however, that he became truly dedicated to the craft, honing his singing and producing abilities, and discovering the power of songwriting to express himself. Now, he studies at the Berklee College of Music, where his career and notoriety are on the rise.
His dedication to creating music is evident in Endorphins. “I made this song in 36 hours from start to finish,” Joshua says. “I wrote this song because of a feeling I have that the Divine forces… are keeping love away from me because it would distract me from making music.”
Still, Joshua isn’t letting anything stop him. A pumping, powerful, electronic-pop song, Endorphins features grinding bass lines and driven string arrangements that are only made stronger by a commanding vocal performance reminiscent of a young Adam Levine, or perhaps a more refined Patrick Stump: clear, full of swagger, and not something to be messed around with.
