Tempo Talks: A Conversation with Fleanger

THE RELEASE

Fleanger, an artist originally from Israel and now based in Berlin, seeks to create a positive impact and cultivate a distinct atmosphere through his music. From an early age, Fleanger turned to various artistic expressions as an escape, including drawing, graffiti, and piano. As a producer, he combines his diverse creative talents to craft electronic music that deeply resonates with listeners.

Fleanger's latest release, "Better," was inspired by a train journey from Berlin to the charming town of Potsdam, known for its magnificent palaces. After a creative hiatus, this trip revitalized Fleanger, allowing him to channel the emotions and impressions he experienced into this captivating track. "Better" beautifully captures the essence of the journey, inviting listeners to embark on their own sonic voyage. Through its harmonies, rhythms, and carefully layered sounds, the track reflects Fleanger's mission to create an atmosphere of solace and joy. Immerse yourself in the melodic waves of "Better" and embrace a transformative musical experience that embodies Fleanger's artistic vision.

THE INTERVIEW

What song or moment in time sparked your passion for music?
I am moved that the music came to me from a place of a child who does not know how to express himself and does not know how to explain what is going through him in words and I had to find some way that would allow me to tell my personal story and the feelings that go through me in a different way that is not in the form of words

If you had to create a Mount Rushmore of inspiration, what four individuals molded the artist you are today?

It combines bands from the eighties and veteran edm artists: Depeche Mode, Pink Floyd , deadmau5 and Avicii.

How does your creative process work from the moment you develop the idea to the completion of the record?

Many times I wake up in the middle of the night and record on my phone a vocal that describes the melody or chords I want to create, but most of the time my creative process starts with the harmony (if the harmony doesn't do something to my body, it's not the right harmony for me).

As for this release, who is the producer and what about the production moved you?

Regarding this production, what moved me a lot while listening to the piece is the exciting combination between the vocal and the pad and the subline that simply creates an experience of chills in the ear in my eyes.

When it comes to the songwriting on this record, what is the message you want to get across to your listeners?

The message that I want to convey to my listeners regarding this track and regarding the rest of my music is simply to experience it according to their feelings and according to their personal experience.
